First home purchase

with harbour views
Young single busy professional wanting to purchase in the Lower North Shore.

The Brief

To find and purchase a secure apartment close to the city as a first home on a strict budget. Not wanting to spend unnecessary money on strata capital works.

The Result

Our client engaged Connie Mastroianni with a budget over the Government’s First Home Owner grant threshold, but was happy to find a property within the scope of the grant and use the additional funds to add value with renovations. After identifying an ideal apartment, due diligence ensured that strata capital works had been completed and there were no further works upcoming. Connie successfully negotiated a price lower than the original asking price based on the bathroom needing to be upgraded and that works were still under way in the building. The 1 bedroom apartment features elevated harbour views to the city skyline, undercover parking and additional storage, and is an easy walk to local shops, transport and amenities.

I am a first home buyer and had been looking around the market for quite some time with no success before I met Connie. Once I had enlisted Connie to help me find my first apartment, she was an endless sounding board for me. I am very indecisive and making such a large purchase, I needed the help of a professional to navigate this. There are so many potential pitfalls when buying an apartment and Connie helped me navigate them all. Apart from securing an amazing price, which I certainly could not have negotiated myself, Connie liased with all the selling real estate agents on my behalf, meaning that I didn’t have to deal with them, which was such a relief. I never thought I would have been able to afford full harbour views for my first property and yet Connie secured a price that was almost $90K lower than the original asking price.
